FIELDS OF INTEREST
Dr. Jonck did his Orthopaedic training in Tygerberg Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa. Managing complex orthopaedic trauma formed a large part of his training as a registrar. His skills in using ring fixators for limb reconstruction was honed under mentorship of Professor Jacques Du Toit, Dr. Sean Pretorius and Dr. Naas Terblanche.
His passion for foot and ankle reconstruction was ignited while training under Drs. Naas Terblanche and Adriaan Van Zyl and came to fruition after completing his Fellowship in Adult Foot and Ankle Reconstruction with Dr Mark Myerson in Baltimore, USA.
He has a special interest in treating children with lower limb deformities, especially Clubfoot. He uses the well proven Ponseti technique.

CLUBFOOT
Congenital talipus equino-varus, or Clubfoot, is the most common birth defect with an incidence of between 3 and 8 per 1000 live births.
The Ponseti technique of gentle manipulation and weekly application of a cast until correction is obtained has been proven to be the standard of care.
Dr. Jonck has a vast experience in treating children with this, and other lower limb deformities.
His aim is to provide children with a stable, well aligned, painless foot and ankle - a gift that should last a lifetime!
